Yuko Kyutoku, LCAT
Psychotherapist | She/Her/Hers
Sometimes, what you are carrying may be difficult to explain. You might sense that something feels stuck, heavy, or disconnected within you without knowing exactly how to describe it. When conversation does not fully capture your experience, therapy can offer other ways to understand and express what is happening inside.
Hi, I’m Yuko. I support individuals in exploring their emotions, reconnecting with their inner strengths, and discovering forms of expression that feel meaningful to them. Together, we can gently approach what has been difficult to name, deepen your understanding of yourself, and work toward greater confidence, self-compassion, and connection.
*Yuko is currently accepting new clients.
How I Understand the Work
I believe every person holds an inherent capacity for resilience, growth, and healing. My approach is grounded in creative arts therapy and informed by mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and an understanding of the connection between the mind and body.
Emotions and memories can sometimes be felt through sensations, images, movement, or creative impulses before they can be clearly understood. Depending on what feels comfortable and meaningful to you, our work may include conversation, art-making, movement, mindfulness practices, or reflective writing. No artistic experience is ever required; creativity is simply another pathway for gaining insight and connecting with parts of yourself that may otherwise remain out of reach.
What Therapy With Me Feels Like
My style is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and accepting. You do not need to arrive knowing what to say, what you are feeling, or what kind of therapy will work best for you.
We will move at a pace that feels comfortable and shape our work around your needs, interests, and goals. I will invite you to explore in ways that feel natural while respecting what you are and are not ready for. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling supported, empowered, and more connected to yourself, with insights and practices you can carry into your daily life.

A little about me
-
Since I was young, I have struggled with my own mental health and experienced firsthand how life-changing therapy can be. The support I received from mental health professionals inspired me to pursue this path. I strongly believe in the healing power of therapy and the importance of having a safe, compassionate space to grow. Witnessing my own transformation fueled my passion for helping others. I see it as my mission to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and help people move toward hope, resilience, and meaningful change.
-
My favorite part of being a therapist is witnessing each client's unique journey. It is an honor to walk alongside people as they discover their strengths, navigate challenges, and experience growth in their own way. Every transformation, whether big or small, reminds me of the resilience and beauty of the human spirit. I feel deeply grateful to be trusted with these stories and to witness the courage, vulnerability, and hope that emerge throughout the therapeutic process.
-
I find joy in simple, everyday moments. Making a cup of tea, caring for my plants, exercising, reading, and spending time with friends help me feel grounded and present. These small rituals bring me peace and remind me to slow down and appreciate the little things. I believe that finding balance and nurturing ourselves in everyday life allows us to be more present for both ourselves and the people around us.
-
Creating art and experiencing art help me feel most like myself outside of work. I enjoy making my own artwork and being part of the local arts community. Art allows me to express myself in ways that words sometimes cannot, while also inspiring creativity, reflection, and connection. Whether I'm creating or exploring the work of other artists, I find it deeply restorative and an important part of who I am.
