Stephanie Astudillo, LMHC-D

Family, culture, and the way we were raised often become part of us long before we have the chance to decide what truly fits. You may deeply love your family while also recognizing patterns that have left you feeling unheard, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself. It can be difficult to know how to create healthier relationships without feeling like you are leaving parts of your identity behind.

Hi, I'm Stephanie. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Psychotherapist, and the Professional Development Supervisor at Aura of Hope Psychotherapy, I support both clients and clinicians in developing greater self-awareness, confidence, and meaningful growth. In my clinical work, I help individuals navigate anxiety, family dynamics, generational patterns, identity, grief, ADHD, relationship challenges, and life transitions while creating space for lasting and meaningful change.

How I Understand the Work

I believe healing does not require rejecting where you come from. Instead, I see therapy as an opportunity to understand the experiences, relationships, and cultural influences that shaped you so you can decide what you want to carry forward and what no longer serves you.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, attachment-informed perspectives, and trauma-informed care while recognizing that every person's story is unique. Together, we can understand the patterns that have shaped your life, strengthen your relationships, and create changes that feel both authentic and sustainable.

What Therapy With Me Feels Like

My style is warm, supportive, and encouraging while also gently helping you challenge the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I believe people grow best when they feel understood, respected, and empowered rather than judged or pressured.

Therapy with me is a place where we can celebrate your strengths while also making room for difficult emotions, honest conversations, and meaningful change. My hope is that you leave each session feeling more connected to yourself, more confident in your ability to make choices that align with your values, and more hopeful about the life you are creating.

My Role at Aura of Hope

In addition to providing psychotherapy, I serve as the Professional Development Supervisor at Aura of Hope Psychotherapy.

At Aura of Hope, we believe that becoming independently licensed is not the end of a therapist’s growth. I work individually with our licensed clinicians to support their continued development, strengthen confidence in their work, and help them deepen their own clinical voice.

This dedicated layer of support reflects how deeply we invest in our clinicians because thoughtful, supported therapists are better able to provide thoughtful, sustainable, and deeply attuned care.
