Associate Psychotherapist | She/Her/Hers
Sometimes, the hardest part of navigating relationships is understanding what you need from them. You may find yourself struggling to communicate your feelings, questioning whether you're asking for too much, or noticing the same conflicts repeating with the people closest to you. Perhaps you're trying to balance your own needs with family expectations, navigating a major life change, or feeling uncertain about who you're becoming. You want to feel understood and connected, but figuring out how to get there isn't always easy.
Hi, I'm Riddhi Singh, a mental health counselor offering online individual, couples, and family therapy throughout New York. I support people navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, family dynamics, identity exploration, cultural expectations, and life transitions. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood, not just acknowledged. Together, we can make sense of what's been weighing on you, explore the experiences shaping your relationships, and work toward greater emotional well-being, self-understanding, and meaningful connection.
*Riddhi is currently accepting new clients and clinically supervised by Heyu Wang, LMHC-D.
How I Understand the Work
I believe our experiences are complex and layered, shaped by the relationships, environments, and expectations we encounter throughout our lives. The ways we learn to express emotions, respond to conflict, and connect with others often have deeper roots. Understanding these influences can help us recognize familiar patterns and develop a more compassionate understanding of ourselves.
My approach draws from psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives, grounded in cultural humility, openness, and genuine curiosity. I recognize how family roles, cultural values, and personal experiences can shape our beliefs about ourselves and what we expect from relationships. Rather than viewing challenges in isolation, I consider the broader context of your life, helping you explore how your experiences influence the present while discovering new possibilities for growth and change.
What Therapy With Me Feels Like
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and grounded in empathy, authenticity, and trust. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to open up to someone new, and I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable expressing yourself without judgment or pressure.
In individual therapy, we'll explore difficult emotions, identify patterns, and develop healthier ways of navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, and life changes. I offer thoughtful reflections and gentle challenges to help you gain new perspectives, recognize your needs, and establish meaningful boundaries.
In couples and family therapy, I work to help each person feel heard while we explore recurring conflicts, communication difficulties, and unmet needs. Together, we can practice expressing feelings more openly, navigating disagreements, rebuilding trust, and strengthening emotional connection.
My hope is that you leave therapy feeling more confident in understanding yourself, expressing your needs, and building relationships that feel authentic and fulfilling.

A little about me
-
Growing up in India, I witnessed how mental health struggles were often left unspoken and how conversations about emotions were frequently discouraged. Seeing the impact of that silence inspired me to pursue a career where I could help create spaces for people to feel heard, understood, and supported. I became a therapist because I believe mental and emotional well-being deserve the same care and attention as physical health. It is incredibly meaningful to help people step outside of isolation, explore their experiences, and feel empowered to embrace all parts of themselves.

My favorite part of being a therapist is witnessing my clients’ growth over time. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone develop greater self-awareness, recognize their strengths, advocate for their needs, and feel more confident in being themselves. I feel honored to be part of that journey and to celebrate both the big milestones and the smaller moments of progress that often lead to lasting change.

Lately, I’ve been finding joy in exploring the city on foot without a specific destination in mind. I enjoy wandering through different neighborhoods, discovering hidden gems, stepping into new stores, or trying food spots I’ve never noticed before. These unplanned adventures remind me to slow down, stay curious, and appreciate the beauty that can be found in everyday moments and unexpected places.

One of my favorite ways to recharge is sitting by the waterfront and watching the sunset. Something is calming about listening to the waves and taking a moment to reflect. It reminds me that life moves in seasons, some days feel fast-paced and overwhelming, while others are slower and more peaceful. Spending time near the water helps me reconnect with myself, appreciate the present moment, and maintain perspective.
