Heyu Wang, LMHC-D
Clinical Supervisor & Psychotherapist | She/Her/Hers
You may be carrying the pressure to meet expectations, strive for perfection, or hold everything together while privately feeling anxious, disconnected, or unsure of where you belong. You may also be navigating life between cultures or wondering how family, achievement, and cultural expectations have shaped your sense of self. If this resonates with you, I want you to know that you don't have to carry it by yourself.
Hi, I'm Heyu. I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, intergenerational trauma, family dynamics, identity, and major life transitions. Together, we'll create a space where you can explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and authentic.
*Heyu is currently not accepting new clients.
How I Understand the Work
My work is rooted in trauma-informed, evidence-based care and guided by compassion and curiosity. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches so that our work can respond to your unique story, needs, and pace.
I also understand how family, culture, achievement, and the experience of living between cultures can shape our identities and relationships. Together, we can explore the experiences that have influenced you, make space for healing from the past, and help you reconnect with your sense of wholeness.
What Therapy With Me Feels Like

A little about me
-
Since childhood, I have been highly attuned to other people’s emotions and naturally curious about the experiences that shape them. That curiosity led me to study psychology and better understand how relationships, culture, and life experiences influence the way we navigate the world. During my first internship in college, which took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed the profound impact of stress, uncertainty, grief, and loss on individuals and families. That experience inspired me to pursue a career in mental health counseling and continue supporting others through life’s challenges and transitions.

My favorite part of being a therapist is having the opportunity to step into someone’s world and get to know them beyond the roles they play in their everyday lives. I feel honored to hear the stories, struggles, hopes, and experiences that are often shared only in the therapy room. I enjoy the process of slowly understanding what has shaped someone, what has been weighing on them, and what matters most to them. I’m continually inspired by people’s resilience and grateful to walk alongside them through that process.
-
One thing that’s been bringing me joy lately is exploring different coffee shops and trying new coffees. During breaks in my workday, I often enjoy spending time in a café, slowing down, and enjoying the moment. Depending on the day, I might be journaling, working on a crafting project, or playing my Nintendo Switch. It’s one of my favorite ways to recharge and appreciate a slower pace of life.
-
Outside of work, I’m actually a pretty quiet person and often enjoy spending time on my own. I love exploring new cities, visiting museums, and spending time in nature. I also enjoy figure skating and have continued to practice it over the years. There’s something about being on the ice—the rhythm, movement, and focus—that feels both grounding and freeing at the same time. These moments help me slow down, recharge, and reconnect with myself.
